[It's tempting to lie for the sake of it, but Jeff has nothing to prove. His skills lie elsewhere and while he can certainly hold his own in a fight, especially with the muscles he's worked hard for, he'd really rather weasel his way out of any fisticuffs.]

Uh, like one. Literally a playground scuffle between a few douchebros and me. I don't tend to get into fights if I can help it. Easier to talk it out.

[ She studies him, her face quite serious. ]

If you get into trouble, you've got people you can go to?

Lucifer or his enemies aren't a problem. I'm not a friend of his, I'm just trying not to piss him. [That and Jeff being a ring bearer is still kind of a touchy subject, one he doesn't want to make common knowledge.]

Lucifer tends to get other people involved in his problems whether he wants them to or not. I'm not a Christian, but I'm pretty sure that's like sort of his primary mission in life.

Can we not do the Lucifer thing? I don't care and neither should you. It's not your problem.

I neutralize powers. If I get my hands on him, he'll be as weak as a normal human. Weaker, probably.

Probably. That's not guaranteed though. If he sticks to the show side of lawyering then he might avoid it, but my personal firm now? Mostly imPorts. They all prefer to not have their business aired to the world.

[Especially drug lords and dealers.]

He's an attorney, not an investigative journalist. Airing clients' business to the world isn't exactly a habit of his.

Sure, but some of my imPort clients? They don't want to be on TV for a reason. [Because they're shady as fuck.] I don't want him getting mixed up in that stuff. You said yourself that he doesn't deserve imPort drama.

All right. This is what he wants, more than anything else, so usually is good enough.

Look, I don't know if I can help him. This show is basically just showboating. You don't even know if I'm actually any good.

I know that that sort of publicity will mean. He won't get turned away when he applies for jobs any longer.

Yeah, he'll leave as soon as he builds up a reputation and popularity. Meaning that he'll depart at the exact moment that he's starting to pose any sort of threat to you.
